Amalfi Coast I (2025)

This special RIDE 70s trip will take us back to the roots, on the very roads we have learned to ride, to our favourite establishments and secret spots. We’ll be riding our bikes from the iconic Vesuvius to Sorrento, the Amalfi coast, the extraordinary Cilento National Park and then back to the millennia old city of Nea-polis, to savour the famous energy this bustling city is famous for. In true R70s style, it’ll be a trip filled with epic roads, incredible sceneries, delicious food and wine experiences, heritage and culture, beautiful hotels and of course swimming.

The route

Twisty roads from coast to mountains on one of the most beautiful peninsulas in the world.

DAY 1 (02/04) 50 km: ‘WELCOME TO NAPOLI + RIDE ON VESUVIUS’

Airport pickup (Napoli) – lunch in Naples - hotel check in – motorcycle tech briefing - panoramic warm up ride and aperitivo – Neapolitan pizza dinner.

DAY 2 (03/04) 100 km: ‘THE AMALFI COAST’

Down from the Vesuvius, we’ll ride fast towards the peninsula and pretty soon hit the first of the incredible panoramic roads overlooking this beautiful rocky coast. We’ll ride into Sorrento town, and continue a few miles for a swim at an historical location. Then on to the twisty Amalfi coast for a truly brilliant ride with postcard views of the peninsula. We’ll lunch overlooking the sea, visit Positano, Amalfi and then if time allows swim again in Erchie. Hotel and dinner on the Amalfi coast.

DAY 3 (04/04) 190 km: ‘THE WILD ROUTE’

of the (UNESCO heritage site) Cilento National Park; little clogged by the masses of international tourists, yet a fantastic example of the beauty of mother nature and the history of humankind. After a first section along the coast, we’ll have a short blast on a stretch of fast motorway, stop for a mozzarella picnic on the river Calore (we can swim!), and then go from hills filled with olive trees to forest, mountains and old towns clinging onto rocks, until we’ll reach our beautiful retreat for the night up in the mountains.

DAY 4 (05/04) 220 km: ‘THE CILENTO ROUTE’

Back on the coast, we’ll ride north along the entire Cilento shoreline, passing some of the most famous and beautiful holiday towns of south Italy: Marina di Camerota, Palinuro, Acciaroli, Agropoli and finally Paestum. After the thrilling and challenging mountains, this’ll be a relaxing and leisurely ride, with stops for ice cream, swimming, coffee, seafood lunch, more coffee and whatever else takes our fancy.

DAY 5 (06/04) 145 km: ‘ROAD TO NEAPOLIS’

Beginning with a visit of the incredible ruins of the Greek city of Poseidonia, today called Paestum, we’ll head back towards the Amalfi coast to ride the twisties crossing Monte Faito and splitting the peninsula in two. We will lunch at a mountaintop agriturismo overlooking Gragnano (world famous for its bronze die slow dry wheat pasta and sparkly red wine), and then hit the fast road back to Nea-polis to celebrate the end of our journey with an aperitivo in the streets of Naples and the most original pizza this city can offer.
